About Us

Welcome to Isle of Wight Treehouse – a truly special place to slow down, switch off, and reconnect with nature on the beautiful Isle of Wight.

Tucked away just outside the village of Whippingham on the island’s north-east coast, our peaceful woodland retreat offers something a little different. Surrounded by ancient trees, open farmland, and wildlife, our unique treehouses and shepherd’s hideaway are designed to help you escape the everyday and enjoy a more relaxed pace of life – whether you’re visiting as a couple, a family, or a small group of friends.

Our Story

Isle of Wight Treehouse is very much a hands-on, family-run project.

All of our accommodation has been handbuilt by owner Will, who has a lifelong love of working with wood and creating things that feel both practical and beautiful. Each structure has been carefully crafted to sit comfortably within its natural surroundings, using thoughtful design , quirky detailing and traditional building techniques wherever possible.

The interiors are designed by owner Fiona, with influences from her love of ski chalets. She brings warmth, character, and comfort to each space, using natural materials of wood, slate and stone. Her eye for detail ensures that every treehouse and hut feels welcoming, cosy, and thoughtfully put together – a place where you can truly relax as soon as you arrive.

How It Grew

The site has evolved naturally over time:

  • The Roost Treehouse was the very first build, completed in 2012, setting the tone for everything that followed.
  • The Shepherd’s Hideaway came next in 2013, offering a flexible and sociable space made up of four beautifully crafted shepherd huts.
  • The Nest, our smallest treehouse, was added in 2019, designed as a cosy retreat for couples.

Each accommodation has its own personality, but all share the same attention to detail, craftsmanship, and love of the outdoors.

Staying With Us

Our spaces combine the charm of outdoor living with the comforts you need for an easy, enjoyable stay. You’ll find proper beds, hot showers, heating, well-equipped kitchens, fresh linen and towels – plus private outdoor areas to relax, eat, and soak up the surroundings.

We’ve deliberately kept things simple and screen-free, encouraging guests to unwind, explore the woodland, watch the wildlife, and enjoy quality time together.

More Than Just a Place to Sleep

For us, Into the Woods isn’t about luxury in the traditional sense – it’s about thoughtful design, natural materials, and creating somewhere that feels special and personal.

We believe a great holiday goes beyond comfortable accommodation. That’s why we’re on hand to help make your visit extra special – whether that’s through local produce delivery, recommending hidden gems around the island, or arranging thoughtful touches for celebrations and special occasions.

Whether you’re here for a weekend or a longer escape, we hope you leave feeling refreshed, reconnected, and already planning your return.
